Nursery

Today was sort of a bittersweet Sunday. First of all, I was released from my calling in the Young Women presidency. That makes our move more real and it makes me sad to be leaving the Branch and these girls. I've learned so much from them. They are so strong and really understand the standards of the church. There are so few LDS people here that they really have to stand up for themselves and what they believe. It's been really fun to watch them grow and to have shared so much with them. I was thinking today about when we first moved here and we had barely found out we were pregnant. The young women were so cute about watching my belly grow and being excited for the baby to come. And now they just love Maxon and he loves them too.
They changed the whole YW and RS presidencies so everything was different. One of the women that was put into YW was previously the Primary pianist so they needed me to take her place. Max was officially supposed to start Nursery next week and I wasn't really prepared for it, but he had to go to Nursery today so I could play the piano. He has wanted to be in there for a long time now so he was so happy to go play and wasn't sad the entire time. After church he just looked so grown-up and he brought his first piece of artwork home. I can't believe how much I love that little paper now hanging on our fridge. It just makes my baby seem so old. But you know what? I REALLY liked him being in Nursery. It made church so peaceful and calm. I think we were both ready for the transition.

Max's nursery project!...we also think he grew more hair in preparation for Nursery...so he would look older! Just kidding.

Isn't nursery a sanity saver?!?!?! I was almost ready to never go back to church because it was the definition of insanity taking Carter every week and hoping for a different result...like him wanting to sit still for even a moment! Was that too much to ask?

Now I can really enjoy church...once we make it through Sacrament Meeting...he is quite the terror sometimes...I have the child you all of the sudden screams at the top of his lungs and the whole congregation turns around to let you know they heard. Although I really need to give him credit because today he was a really good boy.

He is always so happy when I come and get him from the nursery (usually because they are blowing bubbles...who wouldn't be happy playing with bubbles?) and I adore the little projects they do!

I wrote a ton but I could just totally relate to you on this topic..I got released from my Primary calling and now I just get to go to class and I LOVE IT!!!

I'm going to miss being in YW with you :( It was fun! What will we do with all our free time now?

Oh don't you love those art projects!!! So sweet. Even though, the amount Ethan actually does is minimal. But still!! Oh, and Jason is a really good writer. You of course knew that...but yeah, I was really impressed, and I know that wasn't his goal, but really, he just said everything so well and expresses himself most excellently. :)

I LOVE nursery. I love getting to actually sit and listen to a real lesson. I've been in YM and primary most of my married life and then I have the three kids now so now that I'm in a temporary ward with no callings, it's nice to sit and be the one listening for once.
