Yep... It's true!

Tracie here. I'm glad I have two great sisters to team up and spread the joy and pictures!! They weren't lying. I'm engaged!!! Yay!! Jonny and I are getting married on March 13th, 2010, in the Salt Lake temple. So here's the story:

Yesterday was Jonny's 26th birthday. I went over to his house in the afternoon so he could open his presents. A long time ago, Jonny told me that when he was little, each kid got a present on the other kids birthdays so no one felt left out. After he opened his presents, he said, "Well you know it's tradition in my family that you should get a present, so I got you something." He went into his laundry room and came out with a big wrapped present. I opened it and it was a beach towel and sunscreen (because we met at 7 Peaks... ha), and another present. I opened that one and it was some camping stuff and another present. I opened that one and it was a framed picture of us and another present... (then I started getting nervous because they started getting smaller and smaller). So I opened that one and it was this little tin with these little wind-up toys we were laughing at at Borders the other day and another tiny present. So I opened that one and it was a ring box. I glared at him and said, "This better be what I think it is." Then he got down on his knee and told me it would be the best birthday present he could ever ask for if I would marry him. So of course I said yes... I wish the picture showed up better of the ring. It was his grandma Lindsey's ring (that's going to be my new last name) and it's really unique and beautiful!

I told my class the news today. It was really funny. During morning meeting we've been practicing dates. So I wrote 3-13-10 on the board and they had to tell me that it meant March 13th, 2010. I said, "This date is really important because Miss Buttars isn't going to be your teacher any more after that date." They were like- "WHAT?! You're leaving!!" I said, "Don't worry, you're new teacher looks A LOT like me. Her name is Mrs. Lindsey." They all just stared at me.... not getting it. So I pointed to my ring and said, "She's A LOT like me... EXACTLY like me." Lightbulb. It clicked. They know Jonny, but they didn't know his last name was Lindsey so they said, "Wait, who are you marrying?" I said, "Jonny of course!" Then they started clapping because they really were excited!! They are soooo happy and they all want to come to the wedding... There might be an abnormal amount of 7 and 8-year-olds there. PS- thanks for all the congrats on Julie's and Carrie's blog!

Hi Tracie!
Remember me Dani Mingo. Anyways I wanted to say congratulations, and tell you there were 20 6-7 year olds at my wedding. ( They were my first grade, first year of teaching class.)My husband used them in the proposal. My last name is Prince now, and they sang "Someday My Prince will Come" at the reception. It was cute and so much fun to have them dancing at the reception. I say invite them!
