Happy Birthday to ME!!!

So yesterday was my birthday.  I'm 27...still...how can that be?!?!  I think I'll be 28 around March sometime...but I haven't decided yet...it's getting to the point where the numbers are actually sounding pretty mature.  If none of that made any sense, it's okay, I still love you.

Jason absolutely spoiled me!  Contrary to popular belief, I'm actually not high maintenance.  (I just like to look pretty, c'mon!)  I shop at Target.  I never ask for jewelry.  I'm emotionally stable.  I cut and color my own hair (ahh...that's why it looks like that...), I've sworn off tanning for eternity, etc.  After yesterday, though, I sort of want to be.  Jason sent me to the spa at Mohegan Sun and it was fabulous.  I spent the whole morning there being massaged and oiled.  I had a 50 minute facial (my first ever).  I was so embarrassed when she looked in the giant magnifier and spent about 30 of those minutes popping my "problem areas".    It was wonderful and those problem areas look SO much better!  The massage is pure pampering and Jason's actually a great masseuse so I wouldn't need that very often.  But I really think that I do need the facial...every couple of months.  Jason even noticed that my complexion looked better as a result of the strawberry-kiwi mask she put on to brighten me up for my birthday.

Thank you, Jason, for the perfect birthday gift.

The rest of the weekend was spent doing things for the annual Choir and Creche exhibit/perfomances sponsered by our ward.  Everything turned out very lovely and I'm glad to have participated as part of an ensemble, a soloist, and {mainly} an accompanist.  I'm also glad that it's done.  One of those things.

Max was convinced that the singing choirs, decked halls, and nativities were all a part of my birthday celebration.  That might be a little sacrilegious, but it sure was cute.

My children were so naugty tonight as they attempted to watch the choir.  (My apologies to all of those who were in the audience.)  The little girl that kept walking up the stairs.  Mine.  The laughter and loud talking in the back.  Mine.  The screaming in the hallway.  Also mine.  The 50 other children sitting quietly in their seats.  Nope.

Thank you for your birthday wishes.

XOXO

That sounds like a wonderful birthday present! I've never gotten a facial either, and I really kinda want one! Maybe I'll ask for one for my birthday! :)

Oh...and since we are secretly twins you can just skip down to my age. I'll be turning 26 in a few months! :) But I understand...it definitely is sounding more mature.

You know, I'm a total complete fan and supporter of massages. Steven treated me to one a couple of months ago that was 90 minutes...STILL NOT long enough! Arugh. I need the 5 hour kind...

I've never had a facial, though. I worry that it would make me break out after, but you had the opposite effect? So cool! Maybe I'll have to try that next time...after my massage! Haaa! Now, I want one.

SOOOOOOO glad you had an incredible birthday! What an amazing hubby you have to treat you to such a fun birthday, too!

That is the best present ever! Way to go Jason! Don't worry, many times I feel like I'm the only one with crazy kids in public places. I sympathize, empathize, and love you anyways!

Happy Happy Birthday! I thought of you all day and sang to you in my heart...did you hear it?

That does sound like a lovely gift. I am a believer in massages too...I don't think it is high maintenance...I think it is healthy and that people should get them as often as they can.

And I had to laugh at your kids...I feel like that mother often...usually at library story time:) Wish I could have been there to hear your solo!

Glad you were spoiled! Love you lots!!

I am impressed that you do your hair...I think I brushed my teeth today. You are soooo pretty, you don't need to do much. I am going to forward this post to my husband, yup I will be 27 too (I have been for the last 6 mo) and your present sounded like a dream come true! Kudos to Jason!

Happy Birthday!
