I am so frustrated with this blog lately. We cannot post pictures. This blog is nothing without them. So if you've been wondering about Evelyn's birthday, for example, that was a month ago, I've written a post about it and it is just waiting for pictures. She turned two and she is more sassy and adorable than ever, but how can you trust me if I have no picture proof?!?
Now Halloween. We dressed up and looked spooky/sweet/dashing/afterthought (Max/Eve/Jason/me) but it could be next year before I get the pictures posted.
Then, hours ago, I tried to make up for the lack of pictures by posting some really fun videos starring Max and Evelyn but had to say "nevermind" to that idea as well.
On to my next dilemma:
As most of you know, Jason will be resigning from the Navy in December. We've enjoyed our experience and are excited to be moving on to the next adventure-- grad school. The dilemma is that we just cannot decide where to go. The choice is between three schools all with excellent programs. If anyone has any input/opinion at all (for good or bad) please comment. Even if it is "we'd never come visit you there" or "we'd totally come visit you there". Here's the list:
Penn State- State College, PA
Purdue- West Lafayette, IN
Virginia Tech- Blacksburg, VA
Penn State is the only one that has offered funding in the form of a research position. The others haven't yet because of a combination of Spring enrollment and 1st semester student.
We have of course put a lot of thought and prayer into the matter but they are all great choices!
Where should we go?

I don't have much advice on where to go....I think it would be cool to live in PA, experience the East...Indiana you will have cheaper rent, means bigger house probably, and it is "PURDUE", and then VA...Nate is from VA and I love visiting it, So beautiful.
See not much help.
As for pictures- what if you did picasa, or flikr, or photobuket. upload the all at once (so nice) and the copy the html into your compose area. nice and fast. ?? Blogs can be dumb. mine still has the old compose style instead of the updated version. oh well...cant wait for your pics.
Shane judges schools by their football teams (not really, but kinda!) So based on that, we'd say Go Hokies!!!
I will come visit you anywhere! If I had no strong feelings towards any of them, I would pick Penn State because of the research position.
I have a sister-in-law in West Lafayette right now. Her husband is doing business school at Purdue. They are really close to Chicago and have already been a few times to visit for the day. Indianapolis is really close too I think. I know West Lafayette is on the smaller side, but she likes it. She says the fall is beautiful. I can find out more...
I think you should go to Penn State! We still need to go see a football game in that stadium so it woul dbe a perfect place for us to come visit you! Or you could to Virginia Tech...I don't know much about Purdue because I don't know much about their football team! :)
Purdue! ...but only because I may have the chance of living semi-close to you in Indiana. It would be fun to live close and still never see each other;)
Good luck on picking...I am sure you will love wherever you end up. They all sound great!
I don't know about the other two, but Virginia is SOOOOO great. I lived there for 7 years and miss it so much! I've had friends go to Va tech and loved it. They have lots of school pride and do lots of fun things as a community, since it's mostly a college town.
Jason and Carrie-- I would vote for Virginia Tech! I have begged my Jason to take a teaching position there after he retires from the Marine Corps just so that we could live in Blacksburg. It is without a doubt, the prettiest place on earth!
Good luck to you and your family!
Love, Angela Nickerl
