Summer Catch-Up

We are home.  At last.  I know you are all thinking how fast that went by...I keep hearing it...I didn't feel it.  It is so good to be home in our cute little white house in Indiana.  Now it is time to catch-up on blogging about some very important events.
Visitors
Grandma and Grandpa came to visit us in Illinois!  My mom worked so hard to be well enough to travel...we've been waiting so patiently...and she did really well.  We were all impressed by how well she did and the energy she exerted.  We spent an afternoon in Chicago at Millennial Park, we ate out a lot, visited the Jelly Belly Factory in Wisconsin, went swimming in the hotel, and Jason and I even went on a date (Harry Potter!).  Jude came, too.

Max, Evelyn, and Jude
Jude's 2 month stats:
13 lbs 6 oz!
24 in

He's our chunkiest one at this stage by a whole pound.
(Max was 12 lbs 5 oz and Eve was 11 lbs 6 oz)
Jude has rolls and he is very fun to kiss.  Just ask Max.

Max is 5!!!
Max celebrated his 5th birthday for 2 days.  He was convinced that his birthday was going to be on Saturday because he was born on a Saturday.  I was just going to let him think that Saturday was the 29th (instead of Friday) so Jason could celebrate with us.  We decided to celebrate for two days instead.

This was an excellent decision for 2 reasons:
1. He was VERY grumpy on the morning of the 29th.
2.  The birthday phone calls would have been rejected.

The whole family woke him up singing "Happy Birthday" and treated him to breakfast in bed.  He didn't like it.  I was reminded all morning that I shouldn't have done it.  We wanted Jason to be there when he opened his presents.  We played with his new airport Lego set all morning and he talked to Grandma Debbie and then Grandpa Allan on the phone.  We spent the day at Kohl Children's Museum and had a picnic lunch (one of his few birthday requests).  That evening, we had cake and went straight to bed in preparation for the big celebration the next day.

On Saturday, we revisited a really amazing park at The Glen in Northbrook, had Sushi for lunch (Max's favorite food), and saw Winnie the Pooh in the movie theater.  Max LOVED the movie.  I always love to hear him laugh so hard.  It was a really cute movie and perfect for my kids.

Some things about Max on his 5th birthday:
*He loves Legos
*He is an excellent reader
*He is intensely affectionate
*He's likes to do arithmetic and we talk math throughout the day.  He can add, subtract, and multiply.
*He is in love with his baby brother and snogs him all day long.
*He is very observant
*He is shy and very social all at the same time
Max is smart, sweet, and full of energy.

Such cute kids. I'm glad your mom was able to visit...that's awesome. I love how chunky Jude is too.

I'm a bad friend. I still don't understand what was going on with you, and why you were mid houses and all that. What?

Jude is so fat and cute. I want to hold him. When I saw the first picture for a moment I was like, "YAY! She's home in Twin!" So that was a let down. :) But so glad you're mom is healthy enough to do all that. Wow!!!

Max looks like your dad in one of those pictures. I think it's the mischievous look.
