Hey, Jude! You are one!!!

At last my pictures have arrived and I can write a birthday post for Jude!  (Thanks, T.)

While we were in Twin Falls after our trip to Mexico, we celebrated Jude's birthday with his twin cousin Scarlett.  It was a small celebration in which we watched them eat their cupcakes.  Jude was with me when I was making the cupcakes and was very frustrated that he had to wait all day to eat it.  As soon as the cupcake was presented to him, he grabbed it so fast that it plopped straight to the ground.  After being rescued, it was immediately in his mouth and was devoured in no time.
This boy is as sweet as his sweet tooth.

The special cupcakes for the special 1 year olds!

Some of the party guests (who we were able to snap a picture of):

Lucy
Ellie
Audrey

Beck

After the party, Tracie had arranged for Scarlett and Jude to have a little photo shoot with a local photographer friend.  They were tired and had eaten too much sugar, but we got some sweet ones!  I still can't believe these two are less than a day apart.  Aren't they cute together?

Jude started walking at 13 months.

Jude's Favorites:

  • Toy: Rainbow stacker
  • Food: Pasta sauce (give or take the noodles)
  • Treat: Chocolate chips
  • Drink: Vanilla almond milk
  • Activity: Baking with Mommy and sticking his hands in the mixing bowl
  • Outside: Riding the scooter (being pushed by Mommy)
Jude loves when Jason comes in the door after work.  He always stops what he is doing to give Daddy a great big hug.  Then straight back to Mommy.  His best forms of communication are reaching out and making a grabbing gesture when he wants something, kissing me when he wants a drink (carried over from nursing), and nodding "YES".  He is an incredible sleeper.  He is a great eater.  He likes his mommy and daddy and doesn't want to go to anyone else.  Max and Evelyn can both make him laugh like crazy and I adore his wide smile.  Jude likes baby girls.  He will sweetly hug them and share his snacks.  At around 13 months, he started walking and is becoming more confident everyday.   Jude also became our first child to need stitches when he split his chin a couple of weeks ago.  It was sad but he was brave and it is healing well.

Happy birthday, Jude!
We love you.

Here is a movie Jason took at church today.  Now that I'm in the Primary presidency, they are church buddies.  There is no sound but you can see him nodding his head, which we think is pretty cute.

He also loves to wave "bye-bye".  So "bye-bye" to you!
Look who's hair is growing!
Not long after I loved my pixie cut, I hated it!
Now that it is almost chin length I'm enjoying it more.

Love that boy. Your hair is cute! Maybe he can teach Scarlett how to sleep like a champ this summer, that not nursing won't kill her, and how to be brave and walk (she knows how... she is just scared)!
