Guest Blogger

Hello! This is Carrie's little sister Tracie. I used to have a blog when I was student teaching in Washington D.C. (http://traciebuttars.blogspot.com/), but I decided that I don't have enough to say to keep it up. Instead, I'm going to be a guest blogger on here every once in a while. Before you even think about nay-saying, consider this: Steve Urkel was supposed to be a one time guest appearance on Family Matters! Point proven. Ha!

Anyway, I'm a real teacher now. In fact, I'm a veteran teacher. This is my second year. I taught 6th grade last year, and I teach 2nd grade this year. When you put 28 seven- and eight-year-olds together for the majority of the day, hilarity is bound to ensue. Well in class, the students write everyday in a notebook called Paper Talk. They can write whatever they want- stories, poems, journal entries, jokes, etc. Well the other day, little Jimmy wrote a story about me and Jonny (the guy I'm dating). It's not just a story, it's a full on Chapter book and I think it is pretty entertaining. Here is it (I fixed the spelling and punctuation for your ease):

Chapter 1: Ms Buttars and the Dragon

Once upon a time there was a girl named Ms. Buttars. She went to walk her pet kitten that Jimmy gave her for $20. She got lost in a dragon cave.

Chapter 2: The Dragon

Ms Buttars was walking in a cave. A dragon came out. "Hello," said the dragon. "Aaah!" said Ms. Buttars. "How are you Ms Buttars?" "How do you know my name?" said Ms. Buttars. "I know you and your kitten!" "Wow!" said Ms. Buttars. The dragon said, "Do you want cookies?" "Yes! Please. Yummy. Can I have a glass of milk?" The dragon said, "You are going to be attacked!"

Chapter 3: Attacked

The dragon let Ms. Buttars go. "Thank you," said Ms. Buttars. "Attack!!" said Jackson. "Sterling, Morgan get her! Yes!""Let her go!" said Ms. Buttars' boyfriend. "Jonny you saved me. My hero. You are soooo handsome. Will you marry me?" "Okay," said Jonny, "Now where is our horse so we can ride to the temple to get married?"

Chapter 4: The Baby

"Jonny I had a baby." "Yes. Can I see?" "Okay," said Ms. Buttars. "What should we name him?" "Cameron," said Jonny. Jonny and Ms. Buttars got a house.

Chaper5: Jonny Gets a Job

Jonny got a job as a fire fighter. One day he caught on fire. "Help!" he cried. He ran home and jumped in the well at home. It did not go good."

The End

Okay, so maybe that's only funny to Carrie, Jonny, and me, but I just typed the whole thing and I'm not deleting it!

Stay tuned for more funny teaching moments/teaching drama. I think my next installment might be about Ashlyn (AKA- the Vixen, Roxanne, Delilah, Street-walker Jr.). You can only imagine I'm sure.
